Offers on the table as Canada edges closer to future fighter buy
Canada will move immediately to examine three government proposals as part of the country’s C$15-19 billion ($11-14 billion) Future Fighter Capability Project (FFCP), following 31 July RfP submissions made on behalf of Lockheed Martin, Saab and Boeing.
A competitive field made up by the F-35, Gripen E and F/A-18E/F Block 3 Super Hornet aircraft, is focused on convincing decision makers that each respective solution represents the best available to replace a fleet of 88 CF-18 Hornets.
Various industry complications and security issues make the acquisition a particularly difficult one to predict however.
