Scandinavian Safety Training Centre introduces new simulator
The Scandinavian Safety Training Centre in Sweden (outside Gothenburg) introduces Multiway HUET, MWH-6, a new type of training device, which has been design for the underwater escape training of helicopter and fixed wing aircraft crew and passengers.
Unlike all other HUETs this HUET can turn 360 degrees in all directions.
The MWH 6 rotates Omni directionally, around the dual vertical and horizontal axis.
• The simulator body rotates along the longitudinal axis in relation to the seat rows.
• During training the simulator settles in upside (180 degrees) position where
escape from inside the body cannot be hindered.
• Horizontal rotation is controlled by pneumatic break acting on the fixed bearing.
• Vertical rotation is controlled by pneumatic break acting on the lifting point.
Comparing this to a older versions of HUET (Dunker) which only turned to the left or to the right.
This makes the training much more realistic, in order to simulate a real helicopter or plane crash in water. This HUET MWH-6 can be customized for the simulation of many different types of helicopters, such as such as Bell, Eurocopter, Agusta, Kamov, Hughes, Sikorsky and several other types of military and civil helicopters.
All doors can be opened booth from inside and outside of the simulator. (trainee and security diver). Original outfit is from Sikorsky S76 helicopter, with one sliding door, 3 hinged doors with Jettison handle.
This HUET can also perform a simulated free fall from up to 1.8 meters into water.
The instructor inside has a panic button which, when pressed, immediately activates both light and sound signal. This will be a sign for emergency lifting. The emergency lifting usually takes two seconds and greatly increases the safety during training.
MWH 6 body incorporates air and water tanks, which are controlled by pneumatic valves (similar to what are used in submarines). The amount of air and/or water in the tanks makes the simulator to turn and rotate in predetermined direction for instructor and unpredictable for the trainee once it is submerged in water. All six seats are equipped with 2,4, point seat belts with quick emergency release.
Cockpit camera are installed in roof to record training progress from inside the HUET.
Most advanced HUET training:
• Simulation of unpredictable movements
• Turning / Rotation is possible in any direction, offering a number of different variations for training
• Fast and easy transformation into a free-fall crash landing training device.
