Farnborough: Flying buggy launched (video)

Gilo Industries unveiled its Parajet Skyrunner at Farnborough International Airshow, which the company argues can potentially be applied to a variety of military applications.

Skyrunner is an on/off road buggy capable of paraglide flight at up to 10,000 feet thanks to a switchable drivetrain system, rear fan and a deployable ram-air parafoil wing.

Fitted with a 1.0 litre Webber MPE 850cc EcoBoost engine, the Skyrunner achieves 0-62mph in 4.3 seconds and a top speed of 115mph on land producing 125bhp. Thanks to its 350kg overall weight, the company claims responsive performance in-air and 55mph airspeed with three hours of continuous
