Czech procurement surge caters for dismounted infantry
The acquisition of IFVs for the army has tended to dominate attention among the equipment modernisation programmes in the Czech Republic, especially given its bumpy recent history, but the MoD is also continuing to make sizeable investments in infantry weapons and soldier protective equipment.
Spending of CZK5 billion ($227 million) since 2019 included the acquisition of 49,000 small arms, 30,000 helmets and up to 47,000 ballistic vests.
