The French Army has received 520 Glock-17s to the 126th Infantry Regiment (126E RI), as part of a broader effort to improve its small arms inventory.

The French Army is making progress in its efforts to improve its infantry small arms inventory, after the 126th Infantry Regiment (126E RI) received 520 fifth-generation Glock-17 FR semi-automatic pistols. The 9mm weapons were verified and handed over by the 14th Material Support Base (14E BSMAT).

In total, the 126E RI will receive 1,040 Glock-17s. By 2022, more than 38,000 of these pistols will be delivered to army units, according to a French MoD spokesperson.

Some 15,000 Glock-17s were supplied  in mid-December 2020 to 14E BSMAT, which is responsible for ensuring the quality of the guns, logistics management and their packaging for onward delivery
