Euronaval: Thales launches Pastor anti-piracy solution (video)

Joining an ever-growing list of defence contractors entering the maritime security realm, Thales used the Euronaval exhibition in Paris to introduce its ‘Pastor’ anti-piracy system. 

Pitched towards shipping companies, the Pastor solution is a tiered service offering, and centres on a combination of early warning, prevention and deterrence systems.

Jean-Michel Negret, C4I product line manager for Thales, said the company had developed a new radar in the form of the Furuno-based NW10 radar – currently the only ‘civil radar designed to detect and track small targets at long range in high seas’.
