VEGA Group and SELEX Sistemi Integrati UK come together to form SELEX Systems Integration
In January 2009, VEGA Group PLC and SELEX Sistemi Integrati Ltd came together to create SELEX Systems Integration Ltd (SELEX SI), which is now a subsidiary of Finmeccanica company SELEX Sistemi Integrati SpA."
Over the past two decades, VEGA Group PLC has established its reputation in the military simulation and training market with the development of independent technology-based training solutions that support the through-life training requirements of milestone projects such as WATCHKEEPER TUAV and EFA Typhoon.
In February 2008, VEGA became a wholly owned subsidiary of Finmeccanica SpA. The creation of the new SELEX SI company sees the realisation of a 12-month strategy review to establish how VEGA best fits into the Finmeccanica family of companies and how it can use the new opportunities this presents to deliver increased value to our clients.
Under the new SELEX SI organisation, the knowledge and expertise of VEGA’s learning experts, and the capability to develop and implement through-life training solutions, has been preserved and enhanced, with the formation of a dedicated training solutions team. The team will operate under the leadership of Tony Miklinski who joined VEGA in October 2007 after retiring from the Royal Navy as the MOD’s Director Training and Education, responsible for Defence policy.
The SELEX SI training solutions team will spearhead the new organisation’s engagement with the training communities across the military market and will also look to expand its presence in the other market sectors in which the new SELEX SI company is focussed. In addition, the team will continue to work alongside the training experts within SELEX SI subsidiary organisations, namely VEGA Deutschland and VEGA France, to ensure that their respective training clients continue to benefit from the combined knowledge and expertise the company has developed over the past two decades.
