FN Herstal introduces new FCU Mk3
FN Herstal has released an Mk3 version of the FN Fire Control Unit (FCU) for the 40mm grenade system, the company announced on 15 February.
The Mk3 integrates new generation electronic modules to improve performance. Enhancements include an improved laser range finder, a larger aiming window, automatic sight adjustment and a quick detach base through a picatinny type interface and one hand activated lever, lower power consumption and reduced size. The automatically adjusted point of aim, and fast target acquisition night and day capabilities of earlier variants have been retained. Additionally, the Mk3 has several laser safety features for enhanced training capability.
The FN FCU Mk3 can be fitted onto a wide range of underbarrel and stand-alone launchers. As the user interface remains unchanged, no extra training is required for users of previous models.
