French SOF operators team with SMEs on innovations
SOF helicopter crews in the French Army are adopting digital data processing techniques, Shephard has learned.
A new solution called DOSAH draws on the experiences of a Gazelle pilot in the 4th Special Forces Helicopter Regiment, who had the idea of digitising analogue data streams from onboard optical and IR sensors.
Inpixal, an SME known in France for its image processing capabilities and optronics (small turrets for drones and helicopters) helped to develop DOSAH. The system is ‘plug and play’, has its own power supply and can be used in the air, on land or at sea.
