USSOCOM awards new modification for Long Endurance Aircraft
Technology Service Corporation has received another modification, worth $12 million, to its Long Endurance Aircraft (LEA) programme contract from US Special Operations Command (USSOCOM).
The LEA programme funds the acquisition and support of SOF-unique mission kits, mission payloads, weapons, and modifications on a family of Group 4 UAVs, turrets, and ground control stations, in support of Joint Special Operations Command ISR capabilities.
An original $49 million Small Business Innovative Research contract award in April 2019 was followed by a $14 million modification in April 2020.
The newest modification was necessary ‘to accommodate a longer performance period’, the DoD announced on 8 February. The contract is funded at the task order level with operation and maintenance funding and procurement funding.
